The Fun Theory

Have you seen 'Big' with Tom Hanks, and the scene where Tom Hanks rocks out and plays 'Heart and Soul' on the over sized floor piano? In an ad campaign, titled 'The Fun Theory', Volkswagen installed a 'stair piano' right next to an escalator in a subway station in Stockholm, Sweden. Volkswagen installed the 'stair piano' to see if adding a little fun to the stairs will encourage the subway travelers to use the stairs rather than the escalator, promoting fun and exercise.

Volkswagen says 66% more people used the stairs after the piano was installed..... I like this marketing idea almost as much as I liked the Saturn commercials that encouraged Saturn owners to wave at each other.
