Commercial Fit For The Super Bowl

Did anybody else see this commercial? I would have expected to see this commercial between quarters in the Super Bowl, not during the AFC Championship Game between the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts.... WalMart better bring during the Super Bowl....

One can really appreciate how WalMart was not only able to plug their status as the nation's low price leader, but also able to take a jab at people's inherent fear of clowns.... Well done WalMart. Well done....

  2. I loved that commercial. I posted an article about it on one of my blogs too. Way better than the stuff they've been putting out.

  3. Kinda shocking. You know they own Sam's Club and I read they recently closed a bunch of stores laying off a ton of folks. Maybe they are not doing so well these days. This ad pushes the envelope for them. I wonder what the thought behind it was?? Truly the edgiest WalMart commercial I have ever seen.. I got a good chuckle!
    Great post

  5. I think it's a hilarious commercial but I still don't understand why the father felt the need to jump out in a "surprise" manner?

  6. Very funny. I just saw that commercial for the first time yesterday, and it struck me as I watched it, that I'd never seen an entertaining walmart commercial before that.

  7. This is high-larious! If that was real, those poor kids would be traumatized for life. I lol'd every time I saw that during the game breaks yesterday.

  8. I think you guys are right, this is easily the most entertaining (and the only entertaining) WalMart commercial I think I've ever seen!

@Jerry, I don't think it was his intention to scream and scare all of the children.... A surprise clown at a child's birthday party is not a horrible thing.... I don't think I'd want to know if a clown was going to perform at my birthday.... Maybe he was just going to do a jazz hands pose and alert the kids that Dizzle the Clown was there....

  9. That was hilarious non the less but still I think it was a creepy movie jumping in as a surprise.

@Michael, I think a clown at a birthday party is gonna creep out most kids anyways!

  10. ...Am I the only one who just doesn't think it's that funny? Not that there's anything wrong with it..it's just not particularly amusing?

  12. I didn't realized it was a Walmart commercial when I saw it on sunday, I was too distracted by the screaming clown.

The super bowl commercials over the past few years have definitely been disappointing. They better step it up this year.
