Cold As Ice

I have been convinced to move to South Africa and continuously drink beer by the marketing geniuses at Castle Beer.

In an ad for South African beer Castle Lite, we are given the impression that while enjoying their refreshing beverages, we will be serenaded by none other than Mr. Rob Van Winkle! However, you may know him better as VANILLA ICE!!!! Awwwww Yeah! He appears as if out of nowhere!!!!

However, as you can see in the commercial, once you finish your beer, Vanilla Ice throws his microphone in disgust and leaves the scene as quickly as he had entered....

But don't be disappointed! Once you open another frosty Castle Lite, Vanilla Ice returns, and all is well with the world again....

I'm sure you'll all understand my reasons for leaving to South Africa if you 'Stop! Collaborate and Listen!'

  2. WOW! How did you find this! I loved him on that celeb reality show a few years ago. He went nuts on Ron Jeremy. It was INSANE!

  3. That is just too weird. I'm surprised he was able to free up some time from his wedding & bar mitzvah DJing schedule.

  4. Hahaha!! So what song would he sing next? It would get old really fast if every time I opened a bottle of Castle Lite and all I heard was Ice Ice Baby.

  5. At least the whole thing could be updated to the "Vanilla Ice" of today. You know... Eminem! On second thought, I'll just settle for the brew!

  6. @Lisa Marie - Come on! lol There's a rumor of a Vanilla Ice - MC Hammer reunion in the works.... Cancel that - It's not a rumor! They put on a one night show called the 'Hammer Pants and Ice' show....

@Ally - I don't think 'He went all nuts on Ron Jeremy' is quite appropriate, considering Ron Jeremy's previous career.... lol

@Eternally Distracted - Best commercial ever right?

@Copyboy - I wish I could have had Vanilla Ice at my wedding!

@Jerry - All I would need is Ice Ice Baby

@Pat Tillet - Yeah, he's a little past his prime.... But he's still 'Quick to the point, to the point no faking. Cooking MC's like a pound of bacon'!

  7. That commercial is hilarious. Though Vanilla Ice has actually had a rise over in the UK thanks to Jedward doing the duet with him.

  9. Silly commercial... Seriously... And I have to politely disagree with Pat's comparison to Eminem... VI was without a real message... Eminem, in my humble opinion, speaks for too many of his generation who were neglected and/or atrociously-raised. There are a lot of overly angry young people out there, and Eminem tells us why. I hope the new health plan has psychotherapy benefits for all of them...

  11. That one is rather pathetic and funny. What's next for the Ice Man? A soap opera gig?
    Cheers,

  12. That has been my life long dream to have The Ice Man pop out when I drink beer. When I drink Jack Daniels, M.C. Hammer pops out of nowhere.

  13. We hadn't heard from him for a long long time!! So now he's tagging along people who buy beer, huh? Tsk tsk tsk ;)

  16. Nice find Michael! Guess Rob softened his stance on singing Ice Ice Baby since he swore to never do it again after The Surreal Life. Paycheck must have been good.
