Amazing Aerial Footage Of The Icelandic Eyjafjallajokull Volcano

I don't know if you've seen this yet, but ITN reporter John Irvine was able to get amazing aerial footage of the crater of the Icelandic Eyjafjallajokull volcano spewing out the ash and lightning. I can see how this could ground air traffic.....

  1. Awesome. I've been looking for good footage of it. All I'd seen was still shots.

    That is just something else.

  3. The scary thing about this ash is it brings back sad memories of 9/11. The ash in NYC that day was unbelievable. Thanks for sharing that video. Amazing footage!

  4. I have been obsessed with this volcano. They say there is another one not too far away that might have connected "plumbing" if that one erupts a few geologists said the northern hemisphere would experience a multiyear winter. Crazyness.

I agree with Ally, the ash definitely reminds me of 9/11. Thanks for sharing the footage. (not b/c it reminds me of 9/11 though)

  9. It really is amazing!

@Ally - I never thought about the resemblance to the dust clouds from the towers.... What an interesting comparison....

@Lady Hill - I think your talking about the Katla volcano, which is a lot easier to say than Eyjafjallajokull.... A multi-year winter? What is going on with Mother Nature?
