Back To The Future Mall Name Change

When Doc Emmett "Doc" Brown is gunned down by the Libyans in the mall parking lot, before Marty McFly takes the DeLorean time machine to 1955, the mall is called Twin Pines Mall.

When Marty arrives in 1955, he runs over one of a pair of twin pine trees in the yard of Otis 'Old Man' Peabody.

When Marty returns to 1985, the sign in the mall parking lot notes the name of the mall as Lone Pine Mall.

  2. hmmm, that is interesting.
I've never heard that before. Did you come up with this?

  3. Yeah, I grew up on this movie, and that's one of the things my Dad pointed out to me years ago! It's crazy, and you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it...or if you're like me, and not very observant. I guess though, you get to point where you've seen this movie so many times, that you just start looking for things to notice...haha

What I want to know is how you suddenly popped up with this today? lol
Don't get me wrong, it's cool. It's just so random.

  12. Maybe only one of the pines he ran over survived so they had to change the name.

  14. "Crazy drunk drivers"! (Said by the bum sleeping on the bench when Marty returns to the future). That's one of my FAVORITE movies and movie quotes of ALL time!

"Geesh Marty, don't be such a square!" I could go on and on!

  19. For what it's worth, the Angry Video Game Nerd also pointed this out in his reviews of the movies:

Still, great spot! I never noticed that in my various viewings of the movie.

  20. @JLG and Pat Tillet - Oh.... It wasn't me.... lol.... I was just passing the information along.... I'm going to look for more stuff now though....

@Samantha - Your father was a bright man! I never would have noticed this if it wasn't pointed out to me....

@TS Hendrik - I just found out about the name change! There's so much about this movie that I didn't know!

@Cheeseboy - He ran over a pine.... Trying to escape....

@Copyboy - Good point.... How do else do you think running over the pine affected Marty's life? Ashton Kutcher changed a lot more with a lot less....

@liz - You are correct.... I really shouldn't, but I do have way too much time on my hands....

@Pat Tillett - Thanks so much! I'm displaying my White Russian proudly!

@RawknRobynsGoneBlogWild - I took the quiz.... Came in second place.... I was the first loser.... Hmph....

@Cotton Blossom - I asked that same question.... How is this the first time I've seen this....

@Ally - That was a great find too.... It's almost as good at the Doc Brown's kid pointing to his wiener as well.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq5-6PkVGCg

@Powdered Toast Man - No.... There were two pines.... He ran over one....

@Marlene - Every. Single. Day. I'm starting to lose important information, because I filling my head with all this senseless stuff.... lol

@Buffee - I love those quotes too! That and THE LIBYANS!!!!!

@The Girl Next Door Grows Up - It was all totally planned!

    @Geof - Thank you sir.... I'm taking a bow....

@Darrin - Who knew the movie was so complex?

@Bendigo - What show pointed this out? I'd love to see it!

@Steve G. - I'm going to check out the Angry Video Game Nerd right now!

  21. I grew up on this movie too, and that's one of the things my Mom have pointed out to me decades ago! It's mad, and you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it or if you're like me, and not very observant.

  22. In mirror reverse the 1st clock reads 911...with twin pines. And what have we done since the twin towers came down? We have pined.

    http://ardictionary.com/Pine/6343

Now what if we apply that to the second clock, knowing that in 2013, Easter falls on 3/31, the day before April Fool's...and that the esoteric meaning of the compound number 31 vibrates to the 'recluse.'...and knowing about Project Bluebeam...and knowing that MK Ultra is real...and our miltary did really hire a known founder of the Church of Set to work on how to use that to control the masses...
